Former Paraguayan Senator Cubas reports noise pollution in Asunción

Former Paraguayan Senator Cubas has denounced an incident of noise pollution in the microcenter of Asunción. During the early hours of Sunday, Cubas recorded a complaint against motorcyclists using modified exhausts, locally known as “roncadores,” on Palma Street.

In the video shared on social media, Cubas is seen requesting police intervention and calling for the presence of a representative from the Public Ministry to address the situation. He questioned the lack of immediate response and stated his intention to identify the prosecutor on duty to follow up on the complaint.

Under Paraguayan Law No. 5016/14 and Asunción Ordinance No. 92/23, it is prohibited for motorcycles to circulate with free exhausts or without silencers that control noise emissions. Municipal regulations allow for the seizure of such devices by transit police, while Law No. 6390/20 mandates that the National Police intervene to stop noise violations and file official reports. As of now, there is no official information regarding the identification of the motorcyclists or the opening of a fiscal investigation.
