Former Pemex director Víctor Rodríguez Padilla reaches legal agreement in domestic violence case
Víctor Rodríguez Padilla, the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), has obtained a six-month conditional suspension of his criminal proceedings regarding charges of domestic violence. The decision was issued by control judge Consuelo Adriana Correa Ortiz in Morelos following the approval of a damage reparation plan.
Under the agreement, Rodríguez Padilla must pay 120,000 pesos to the victim, Felicia Jiménez, as immediate reparation. Additionally, he is required to pay a monthly alimony of 14,000 pesos, undergo specialized psychological treatment focused on masculinities, and report to judicial authorities every two months to sign documents.
The resolution lifted previous precautionary measures, including a travel restriction that prevented him from leaving the country, but maintained an absolute prohibition against approaching, intimidating, or bothering the victim. If all conditions are met successfully, the criminal action will be extinguished, and the case will be definitively dismissed on April 8, 2027.
