Former PL Youth coordinator Bruno Fonseca declares support for Lula

Bruno Fonseca, a 21-year-old law student and former coordinator of the Liberal Party (PL) Youth in São Paulo, has announced his decision to support Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in future elections.

Fonseca, who supported Jair Bolsonaro in 2022, stated that his political shift occurred after distancing himself from the far-right movement. He cited disagreements with party allies regarding labor rights, violence against women, and LGBTQIA+ rights as primary reasons for his departure. He noted that when he advocated for basic protections, such as combating femicide, he was labeled as a “leftist” by his former peers.

A turning point for Fonseca was a debate involving Tiago Santinelli, where he opposed homophobic rhetoric. He has since moved to Curitiba and begun producing content focused on leftist political themes and workers' rights.
