Former Plateau Governor Jonah Jang Urges Fulani‑Berom Reconciliation at 80th Birthday

Former Plateau State governor Jonah Jang marked his 80th birthday in Jos with the launch of his autobiography, *From Airman to Politics – My Life*. In remarks drawn from the book, Jang lamented the deterioration of relations between the Fulani and Berom communities, saying the two “should never have become enemies” and calling for a return to mutual respect, dialogue and shared destiny.

He also warned Nigeria’s political class that power is temporary, emphasizing that character, faith and service to humanity endure beyond office, wealth or fame. Jang urged politicians and young Nigerians to prioritize integrity and a relationship with God, noting that “life is far greater than political office, wealth or recognition.” The foreword to his memoir was written by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
