Former police officer faces trial for rape and child pornography charges

A 55-year-old transgender former police officer is facing trial in Traunstein, Bavaria, on multiple serious charges, including the rape of a 14-year-old girl. The incident allegedly occurred in August 2025 in a fast-food restaurant bathroom. Prosecutors state that prior to the assault, the suspect sent a pornographic WhatsApp message to the minor from her police station.

In addition to the rape charge, the defendant faces allegations involving the possession and distribution of child pornography. Investigators reportedly discovered hundreds of files on the suspect's computer, some depicting victims as young as three years old. The suspect also faces charges related to the production of zoophilic material.

The defendant, who identifies as a woman but is currently being held in the male wing of a Munich prison, has reached a preliminary agreement with the prosecution. Under this arrangement, a conviction could result in a prison sentence of three to three and a half years. A final verdict is expected on October 8.
