Former Polish policeman Dariusz Równicki on the run after stabbing his father‑in‑law to death

In the town of Mierzawa, Świętokrzyskie voivodeship, 49‑year‑old former police officer Dariusz Równicki attacked his in‑laws with a knife, killing his 80‑year‑old father‑in‑law on the spot and seriously injuring the 76‑year‑old mother‑in‑law. Police issued a warrant for his arrest and released a description of his appearance and his electric scooter, urging the public to provide information.

Separately in Warsaw's Bródno district, a 44‑year‑old Ukrainian taxi driver was assaulted after a dispute with two female passengers. A 36‑year‑old Polish man struck the driver in the head with a beer bottle, causing a serious head injury that required hospital treatment. The attacker was apprehended by police and faces criminal charges.
