Former President Park Geun-hye Dines with Party Lawmakers in Ulsan

Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye attended a dinner in Ulsan on May 2 with roughly 15 members of the People Power Party (PPP) from the southeastern region, including legislators from Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, as well as a few from Daegu‑Gyeongbuk and Gangwon. The gathering followed her recent campaign visits supporting the PPP candidate for the Daegu mayoral by‑election.

During the meeting Park said the party was “small and struggling,” urging the lawmakers to listen to citizens, fulfill their duties, and fight for the country despite the difficult political climate. She emphasized that the nation’s basic framework must remain stable so that ordinary people and workers are not harmed. The dinner marked one of her first public appearances since the 2017 impeachment, as she resumes a more active role ahead of the June 3 local elections.
