Former Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti Sentenced to Two Years in Prison and €5,000 Fine
The Basic Court in Pristina found former mayor Shpend Ahmeti guilty of failing to declare assets totaling €172,600 during his tenure from 2018 to 2022. The court sentenced him to two years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of €5,000. In addition, Ahmeti must pay €100 for court costs and €100 to the Victims’ Compensation Fund. The judgment was delivered by Judge Leon Perllaska on 24 July 2026 and will take effect once the decision becomes final; Ahmeti may appeal.
