Former professional footballers debut in Dutch amateur leagues

Former professional footballers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Rick Karsdorp have both transitioned to amateur football in the Netherlands.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel, the former FC Twente striker, made his debut for VV Woudenberg, the club where his career began. Despite the team's 0-3 loss to CSV Apeldoorn and a nosebleed during the match, Van Wolfswinkel expressed that playing for his hometown club was a long-held dream.

Rick Karsdorp, a former defender for Feyenoord, AS Roma, and PSV, scored his first goals for VV Schoonhoven in a match against VV Altena. After retiring from professional football to spend more time with his family, Karsdorp scored twice during the game, marking his first goals since moving to the amateur level.
