Former PSOE Leader Santos Cerdán to Become Truck Driver in Milagro

Santos Cerdán, former secretary of organization of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), was detained in June 2025 on suspicion of belonging to a criminal organization, influence peddling and bribery related to public‑works contracts and alleged interference in judicial cases. He was held in Soto del Real prison until his release on 19 November 2025, after which he returned to his birthplace, Milagro, in Navarre.

Cerdán is now preparing to work as a truck driver for a local company in Milagro, having obtained or renewed his heavy‑vehicle licence. He plans to start the job in August, partly to qualify for unemployment benefits, while he remains under investigation for the alleged corruption schemes.
