Former Rajasthan MLA Sanyam Lodha receives death threats
Sanyam Lodha, a former MLA and Congress leader from Sirohi, Rajasthan, has reportedly received death threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. On October 11, Lodha received three international calls and audio messages from an individual identifying as a gangster named Arzoo. The messages threatened to kill him using sten guns and AK-47s, claiming they could bypass his security.
This follows the September arrest of two shooters, Jaskaran Singh and Rajendra Singh (alias Billa), by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). The suspects had reportedly entered from the Nepal border and conducted reconnaissance at Lodha’s farmhouse, but were unable to execute their plan due to high activity at the location.
Authorities are investigating several potential motives, including Lodha’s previous criticisms of prison security and criminal networks, his stance against smuggling in the Sirohi-Pali region, or local political and personal rivalries. Lodha has stated he is not intimidated by the threats and remains active in public life.
