Former Rapid coaches Iosif and Măldărășanu explain joblessness

Mihai Iosif, a former Rapid Bucharest and FC Voluntari coach who obtained a PRO licence in 2025, said on a Digi Sport programme that he has been contacted by several clubs but no contract has materialised. He explained that the lack of a clear sporting project, not financial terms, is the main reason he remains without a team, adding that he is ready to take on a role that offers a well‑defined objective such as reaching the play‑offs and promotion.

Marius Măldărășanu, who left his post at Hermannstadt in December 2025, told VOYO Sport that he would welcome a coaching job at any of the clubs he played for – Rapid, Petrolul or Brașov – but he has not received an offer. He stressed that he stays prepared for a future appointment, emphasizing his desire to help Rapid achieve European competition while awaiting a suitable opportunity.
