Former Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji and Brother Served Summons in Rs 35 Crore Bribery Probe

Chennai police served summons to former DMK minister and Coimbatore South MLA V Senthil Balaji and his brother V Ashok Kumar at their parents' residence in Karur, directing them to appear before the Triplicane police on 6 July. A Look‑out Circular was also issued to bar them from leaving India.

The case stems from a complaint by Uthangarai MLA N Ilaiyaraja that he was offered Rs 35 crore to resign, join the DMK, and faced threats when he refused. A special investigation team has arrested eight people, including a YouTuber, two hotelier aides, and others linked to the brothers. The brothers have evaded earlier attempts to serve the notices and have not appeared for the scheduled interrogation.

Ashok Kumar sought anticipatory bail, which was adjourned by the Madras High Court. The investigation continues as authorities seek to question the brothers and uncover the alleged bribery and intimidation network.
