Former Torreón official José Elías Ganem Guerrero detained by FGR
Federal authorities in Mexico have detained José Elías Ganem Guerrero, a former City Council Secretary, and his wife, Martha Rodríguez Romero, former president of the Municipal Justice Center, during an early morning operation in Torreón.
The Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) executed search warrants at residences linked to the former official. While initial reports suggested the investigation involved private business activities, unofficial sources indicate the case may involve charges of organized crime, which could lead to the transfer of the detainees to the federal prison in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico.
The operation resulted in the detention of four individuals. The FGR has yet to formally confirm the specific legal charges or the final jurisdictional status of the detainees.
