Former trustee of Ladislav Bašternák to face trial

Lenka Ivanová, the former bankruptcy trustee for the assets of convicted individual Ladislav Bašternák, is set to face trial at the Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok. The proceedings are scheduled to begin on August 19, with further hearings planned for August 20 and September 8 and 9.

An indictment filed by the former Special Prosecutor's Office in 2023 alleges an especially serious attempted crime involving the breach of duty in the administration of third-party property. The case pertains to the trustee's actions regarding the execution of a court-ordered forfeiture of Bašternák's assets.

In 2020, the District Court Bratislava I blocked Bašternák's property to prevent its transfer to relatives and other parties. Despite an initial promise to file an opposition lawsuit to protect creditors' interests, Ivanová failed to do so, citing a lack of substantive legal conditions. Consequently, the District Office in Bratislava proposed her removal as trustee due to her failure to uphold her legal obligation to defend creditors' interests with professional care.
