Former 'Uomini e Donne' Contestant Rosario Ibello Arrested in Ischia for Fake Document Fraud

Rosario Ibello, a 56‑year‑old former participant in the 2023 “Trono Over” edition of the Italian dating show “Uomini e Donne,” was detained by Carabinieri at the port of Ischia. Police found a second identity document in his bag that falsely listed his residence as Barano d’Ischia, allowing him to claim a resident discount on a ferry ticket on August 3 and to attempt the same discount again.

The authorities arrested Ibello on charges of possession of false documents and alleged fraud against the ferry company for using the counterfeit resident card to obtain an unauthorised reduced fare. He presented a genuine ID alongside the forged one, which raised suspicion and led to his arrest.

The case has drawn public attention due to Ibello’s television fame and the nature of the alleged fraud involving transport services on the island.
