Former Vidalia Police Sergeant arrested for Flock system misuse

Sanantonio Wilcher, 37, a former sergeant with the Vidalia Police Department, has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) for allegedly misusing the department’s Flock Safety license plate recognition system.

The arrest follows an internal audit conducted by the Vidalia Police Department, which indicated that Wilcher accessed the system on multiple occasions for purposes unrelated to legitimate law enforcement activities. Wilcher faces two counts of misuse of a license plate reader system and one count of violation of oath of office.

Wilcher is no longer employed by the Vidalia Police Department and has been booked into the Toombs County Detention Center. The GBI investigation remains active, and the case file will be forwarded to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for further review.
