Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen, a four‑time Pro Bowler who last played in the NFL in 2021, has announced his intention to return for the 2026 season. In a recent interview he said he has been sober for a year and is managing a bipolar diagnosis, expressing confidence that he can contribute on the field again.

Griffen, 38, posted career totals of 85.5 sacks and earned over $63 million in contracts during his 12‑year career. He was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of an ignition‑interlock violation, a development that has drawn additional media attention to his comeback plans.
