Formia opens new parking facility in Maranola
The municipality of Formia has inaugurated a new two-level parking facility on via Angelo Forte in the Maranola district. The project, which has been awaited by the local community for decades, aims to address chronic parking shortages and improve accessibility to the historic center of the village.
Located near piazza Antonio Ricca and the Lorenzo Milani school complex, the structure features lighting and a specialized rainwater management system utilizing draining pavement and specific grates. The development is part of a broader urban redevelopment initiative in Maranola, which has recently included improvements to the local square and the installation of an elevator to remove architectural barriers.
Mayor Gianluca Taddeo attended the opening ceremony, noting that the infrastructure responds to concrete needs of residents and visitors while respecting the area's architectural and landscape characteristics.
