Formigine announces expansion of affordable housing plan
The Municipality of Formigine has announced an expanded housing plan aimed at addressing the needs of vulnerable families and young couples. The initiative involves the creation, recovery, or assignment of over 150 housing units designed to support social cohesion.
Under the General Urban Plan (PUG), regeneration projects must reserve at least 30% of units for Social Residential Housing (ERS) at controlled prices, including options such as ‘rent to buy’. The strategy focuses on environmental sustainability and urban regeneration with zero net land consumption, targeting areas such as the former Cantina of Formigine, the ex Maletti area in Casinalbo, and Piazza Kennedy in Magreta.
Mayor Elisa Parenti stated that the plan includes public residential housing for fragile groups and social housing for young couples. The program also incorporates rent guarantees, tax benefits for homeowners, and regional contributions for rent support provided through the Union of Municipalities of the Ceramic District for families with lower ISEE levels.
