Formigine to inaugurate Villaggio degli Orti di Tabina

urban gardens community project Formigine inauguration social solidarity

The official inauguration of the Villaggio degli Orti di Tabina is scheduled for Saturday, October 3. This event follows the allocation and formal handover of twenty new garden plots to local gardeners in June, allowing for the start of seasonal crops.

The celebration program begins at 3:00 PM with ‘Giocociclismo,’ a recreational activity for children organized by U. S. Formiginese at the adjacent bike park. The institutional ceremony, featuring a ribbon-cutting by Formigine Mayor Elisa Parenti and Councilor Giulia Malvolti, is set for 3:30 PM.

Evening activities include a Mass presided over by Don Lorenzo Lodi at 6:30 PM, followed by food stands and musical performances until 8:00 PM. These new plots expand upon the 79 existing gardens in via della Fornace, serving as a space for community interaction and social solidarity.
