Formosa advances healthcare through emergency networks and medical training
The province of Formosa is advancing its healthcare infrastructure through specialized medical networks and expanded professional training. During a regional meeting in Posadas with representatives from Chaco, Corrientes, and Misiones, health officials presented progress on emergency networks designed to improve diagnosis and treatment for acute myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular accidents (ACV).
Dr. Carlos Rodríguez, subsecretary of Integrated Complexity Assistance Establishment Management, noted that the provincial network, which began developing protocols like ‘Código Infarto’ in late 2022, integrates various levels of medical facilities to provide rapid responses in both the capital and rural areas. He attributed this progress to sustained political investment in health.
In a separate development, provincial deputy Dr. Cristina Mirassou highlighted the growth of medical residencies and university training in Formosa. A recent certification ceremony recognized professionals completing four-year residencies in specialties including endocrinology, surgery, ophthalmology, gynecology, pediatrics, dentistry, and mental health. The expansion of these programs aims to meet the evolving sanitary needs of the province.
