Formosa councilman criticizes municipal tax transparency project

In the Formosa Deliberative Council, councilman José Delguy criticized a legislative initiative proposed by Cecilia Macarena Romero Depretto regarding municipal tax transparency. The project aims to require businesses to specify the exact impact of municipal taxes on the final price of goods and services on every receipt.

Delguy argued that the proposal lacks technical foundation and clear implementation methods. He questioned how small merchants, such as kiosk owners, would be able to calculate the specific tax portion required for such disclosure. He also noted contradictions in the project's format, stating that while it is presented as a communication, it effectively imposes new obligations, oversight, and a 90-day compliance deadline on all local economic agents. Delguy called for more rigorous study and consultation with business chambers and specialists to avoid legislative improvisation.
