Formosa massacre: Four dead in suspected debt collection shooting

Four men were shot and killed in the Parque Lago neighborhood of Formosa, Goiás, during what is being investigated as a debt collection dispute. The victims, identified as Gustavo Fernandes Graças, Luís Antônio Rodrigues, Gustavo Aurélio, and André Ferreira, were found inside and around a Volkswagen Amarok that had been struck by gunfire.

Preliminary investigations suggest the victims had gone to the residence of a retired military police officer to collect a debt of R$ 250,000 related to a truck purchase. The retired officer, along with his son and another associate, are under investigation for their potential involvement in the massacre. The officer has claimed he acted in self-defense, alleging that the victims were pursuing his son.

The Civil Police and the Homicide Investigation Group are currently working to clarify the dynamics of the shooting and the specific roles of those involved. Security footage captured the moment the vehicle stopped and the gunfire began.
