Formosa government and Banco Formosa sign digital wallet agreement

The Formosa provincial government and Banco Formosa have signed an agreement to implement purchase rebates through the ‘Onda’ digital wallet. This initiative is part of the Provincial Food Sovereignty Program (SAF) and is scheduled to take effect on Thursday, the 22nd, remaining active until the end of the year.

The agreement provides a 10% refund for both merchants and consumers. For merchants, the rebate is capped at 50,000 pesos, while consumers are limited to a monthly cap of 20,000 pesos. These instant refunds will be applied during commercialization days on Tuesdays and Thursdays at SAF locations and will be visible directly in the digital wallet balance.

Economy, Finance, and Treasury Minister Jorge Oscar Ibáñez noted that the measure is a significant benefit for local families. The program also expanded to include new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as an egg producer from Clorinda and a local sweet potato jam manufacturer from the capital's industrial park.
