Formosa hosts Under-16 provincial volleyball finals

The third edition of the Juegos Evita Formoseños is currently underway in Formosa, Argentina. During a presentation ceremony at the Cincuentenario Stadium for the first provincial Under-16 volleyball finals, Mario Romay, the Secretary of Sports and Community Recreation, reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to maintaining sports policies.

Romay emphasized that despite national funding cuts affecting sports, health, and education, the province will continue to support social, community, and federated sports. He described the games as being driven by the ‘Formosa Model’ with a federal vision to provide opportunities for all athletes through various qualifying stages.

The event also introduced ‘Yaca’, a caiman mascot chosen by the public via social media, to add entertainment to the competitions. The Under-16 female volleyball finals include teams from various localities such as Herradura, Los Chiriguanos, Formosa, Clorinda, and others.
