Formosa launches maize and cucurbitaceae planting campaign

The PAIPPA Institute, in coordination with the Formosa provincial government, has officially launched the first planting season for maize and cucurbitaceae for the 2026-2027 agricultural campaign in northern Argentina.

Hosted at the Universidad Provincial de Laguna Blanca (UPLaB) campus, the initiative aims to support over 1,500 small-scale producers across 12 localities, including Laguna Blanca, Clorinda, and Misión Tacaaglé. The program provides free high-quality seeds—including various types of maize, watermelon, and melon—alongside technical assistance, fuel for soil preparation, and bio-inputs.

According to PAIPPA executive coordinator Rubén Casco, the program seeks to promote diversified production to supply strategic provincial programs like the Plan Nutrir, ensuring the availability of fresh food for the community.
