Formosa officials honor RIMte 29 defense heroes

Governor Gildo Insfrán led a ceremony in Formosa to honor the veterans and fallen soldiers of the Regimiento de Infantería de Monte 29 (RIMte 29). The event marked the 51st anniversary of the defense of the regiment that occurred on October 5, 1975.

The ceremony, held at the RIMte 29 Plaza de Armas, included military officials, provincial authorities, veterans, and families of the deceased. During the tribute, Colonel Gustavo Insaurralde, head of the regiment, highlighted the bravery of the soldiers who fell during the attack by the Montoneros organization, describing their actions as a heroic chapter in the history of Formosa.

Lieutenant Colonel Insaurralde emphasized that the annual commemoration serves as a vital source of vocation and heroism for current military personnel, noting that the importance of honoring the fallen remains constant regardless of the specific anniversary year.
