Regional economic initiatives across South America
Various regional governments and municipalities are implementing programs to stimulate local economies through tourism, agriculture, and commerce.
In Argentina, Chubut has regulated the sale of medicinal cannabis flowers in pharmacies under medical prescription to promote local production. In Tierra del Fuego, the government is hosting an event to integrate local SMEs into the tourism value chain. Additionally, Catamarca is offering financial tools and credit lines to tourism providers, including a 20% discount program via Banco Nación. In Formosa, the government is organizing livestock fairs in Mansilla and Pozo del Tigre to support small producers.
In Paraguay, the Itapúa Governorate is launching the “Tesoros de Itapúa” project, which aims to transform local products and traditions into year-round tourist experiences for small businesses and farmers.
