Formosa solar park expands to 37 megawatts
Governor Gildo Insfrán has announced the expansion of the solar park located between Las Lomitas and Pozo del Tigre in Formosa. The project, which utilizes private investment supported by provincial energy infrastructure, aims to increase renewable energy generation within the local electrical system.
Fernando De Vido, President of the REFSA Board, detailed that the project's capacity has grown from an initial 15 megawatts to 22 megawatts, and has now added another 15 megawatts, reaching a total of 37 megawatts of clean energy generation.
To facilitate this private investment, the province has implemented infrastructure including 132 kV lines and transformer stations. Additionally, the province will make a further public investment in a new 33 kV line from the solar park to the Las Lomitas transformer station to integrate the energy into the system. This expansion is expected to help stabilize the electrical system during periods of high demand in the summer.
