Formula 1 broadcast rights locked in Germany and Austria

In Germany, the RTL‑Sky partnership continues to hold the Formula 1 television package. Sky retains the pay‑TV rights through 2027, while RTL will show a limited selection of free‑to‑air races in 2024‑2025 and a handful of events in 2026, including the Monaco Grand Prix and several qualifying sessions.

In Austria, ServusTV has secured a new three‑year extension of its free‑to‑air Formula 1 contract, covering the 2027‑2029 seasons. The deal guarantees that all race sessions – practice, qualifying, sprint races and the Grand Prix – will be broadcast live and without a paywall on ServusTV and its streaming platform ServusTV On. The extensions in both countries come as European broadcasters renegotiate long‑term rights, with other markets shifting toward pay‑TV models.
