Formula 1 drivers discuss technical challenges and Audi project
During preparations for the São Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos, Formula 1 drivers shared insights regarding technical reliability and future team developments.
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly reported that a software bug caused a sudden loss of power during the Mexican Grand Prix, dropping him from 8th to 14th position. Gasly criticized the current technical regulations, noting that electronic and power unit issues have unfairly impacted driver performance throughout the season. He expressed hope that experience gained during the current cycle will lead to positive regulatory changes by 2027.
Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto addressed the long-term trajectory of the Audi Formula 1 project. He urged patience, suggesting that 2027 will be a key year for the team to consolidate its position and reduce mechanical failures. While the official goal is full competitiveness by 2030, Bortoleto indicated that internal efforts aim to reach that level sooner.
