Formula 1 drivers look forward to four‑week summer break amid intense schedule
After six Grand Prix races in eight weeks, the Formula 1 calendar will pause for a four‑week summer break. Drivers say the uninterrupted sprint of events has left them mentally and physically exhausted and view the hiatus as essential for resetting before the second half of the season.
French rookie Isack Hadjar said he hopes the break will help his team understand the Red Bull RB22 better, noting, “Beaucoup de tours sur le simulateur ! … le week‑end de course n’est pas propice à l’analyse”. Oliver Bearman echoed the sentiment, stressing, “Le même sentiment, vraiment. C’est important de faire une remise à zéro, de se reposer et de se vider la tête de la course.” Oscar Piastri also expressed eagerness for the rest before a demanding remainder of the championship.
Drivers plan to spend the downtime on personal rest and simulator work, aiming to return refreshed for the upcoming races at Zandvoort and beyond.
