Formula 1 launches ‘Five Lights’ global marketing campaign

Formula 1 has launched ‘Five Lights’, a new global marketing campaign designed to mark the return of racing for the second half of the season. The campaign features a 90-second cinematic film narrated by actor Colin Farrell, which focuses on the tension and concentration of the iconic five-light pre-race countdown. The film features all 22 drivers and is set to the track ‘Reign’ by UNKLE.

Running from August 16 through September 13, the campaign will be visible across social and digital channels, as well as at six major advertising locations in the United Kingdom and the United States. These locations include Piccadilly Circus and The Outernet in London, Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, Times Square in New York, and Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.

The marketing push follows a period of significant growth for the sport, which reports a global fanbase exceeding 830 million. The 2026 season has seen 11 consecutive sellout Grands Prix and six new circuit attendance records. The second half of the season is set to begin with the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on August 21.
