Formula 1 prepares for 2026 season changes and new regulations

The 2026 Formula 1 season will feature significant technical and structural changes, including a new technical regulation focused on active aerodynamics, sustainable fuels, and increased electrical power in V6 hybrid engines. The cars are expected to be smaller and lighter to facilitate closer racing. Additionally, Cadillac will debut as the 11th racing team, and Sauber will transition into Audi.

Regarding broadcasting, RTL will continue to show select races on free-to-air television in 2026. This follows a period where RTL had limited coverage after exiting the sport in 2020. The broadcaster's future involvement has been linked to its proposed 150 million euro acquisition of Sky Deutschland, a move that has undergone review by the European Commission.
