Formula 1 racing tops streaming charts and gains Dolby Atmos support

Formula 1 racing, streaming on Apple TV, emerged as a top program in the September 2026 Looper Insights Streamer of the Month Report. The report, which utilizes a proprietary Dollar Media Placement Value metric, identified Formula 1 as a leading entertainment program across major connected-TV devices in the United States.

In addition to its high streaming performance, Apple TV has introduced Dolby Atmos support for live Formula 1 coverage, beginning with the United States Grand Prix weekend. This update aims to provide viewers with immersive audio, including team radio, commentary, and engine sounds, paired with Dolby Vision visuals. To mark the event, Apple is hosting a live screening of the race at its Domain NORTHSIDE store in Austin, Texas.
