Formula 1 records highest attendance and TV viewership in 2026 season
All 11 Grand Prix events in the 2026 Formula 1 calendar sold out, with six circuits setting new weekend‑attendance records. Total on‑site spectators rose to 3.7 million, up from 3.4 million the previous year. The Japanese Grand Prix saw an 18 % increase in crowd size despite no Japanese driver on the grid.
Television audiences surged in Brazil, Italy and China, with Brazil’s viewership five times higher than in 2025. The Monaco race attracted nearly 80 million viewers, double the 2025 figure. Social‑media reach expanded to about 125 million followers across platforms, and the official Instagram account grew to 43.5 million.
F1 also secured a new 10‑year contract for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, confirmed a five‑year return for Istanbul, and locked in Portuguese races for 2027‑28. Barcelona and Spa will alternate hosting duties through 2032, and a partnership with Apple TV was extended.
