Formula 1 releases first Social Impact Report and extends scholarships
Formula 1 has published its inaugural sport-wide Social Impact Report, detailing efforts to increase accessibility and diversity within motorsport. The report highlights that over 500,000 young people across 71 countries benefited from education, STEM, and community outreach initiatives during 2025. These findings consolidate the contributions of F1, the FIA, all 10 teams, and 24 race promoters.
In conjunction with the report, F1 announced a £2.4 million investment to extend its Engineering Scholarship programme for an additional three academic years, running through 2028/29. Since its inception in 2021, the program has supported 48 students from underrepresented backgrounds by covering tuition and living expenses. Moving forward, ten new students will be selected annually to receive support at institutions including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, the University of Strathclyde, and MUNER in Italy.
The initiatives align with recommendations from the Hamilton Commission, established by Lewis Hamilton and the Royal Academy of Engineering. Additional achievements noted include over 1,000 talent development opportunities and the participation of more than 29,000 schools in the annual STEM Racing initiative.
