Formula 1 reveals 14 vacant seats for 2027 season

Formula 1 has released an updated overview of the driver lineup for the 2027 season, revealing that 14 of the 22 available seats remain unconfirmed. Currently, only eight drivers are officially secured for the season: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at McLaren, Max Verstappen at Red Bull, Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas at Cadillac, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, and Pierre Gasly at Alpine.

Significant attention is focused on Argentine driver Franco Colapinto and his potential future with Alpine. While Colapinto is not yet officially confirmed in the 2027 lineup, reports suggest he remains a strong candidate to continue with the French team alongside Pierre Gasly. His contributions to the team's simulator work and his presence at the Enstone factory have been noted as key factors in his candidacy. Flavio Briatore has not yet officially confirmed the team's driver pairing for the upcoming season.
