Formula 3 drivers test new Madrid circuit amid noise complaints

More than 20 Formula 3 drivers are conducting testing sessions at the new Madrid circuit this Monday and Tuesday. These trials serve as a critical precursor to the return of Formula 1 to the Madrid community after 45 years. While the track has been FIA-homologated and deemed safe, driver feedback regarding high-speed performance and track limits will be essential for final preparations.

Simultaneously, the activist group Stop Formula 1 Madrid, which includes Ecologistas en Acción de Madrid, has raised concerns regarding noise levels. The group claims to have recorded noise peaks of 109.1 decibels near residential areas during the Formula 3 testing on Monday morning. The collective noted that these levels significantly exceed the 55-decibel daytime limit established by Madrid's acoustic protection ordinances. However, these measurements have not been officially verified or independently audited.
