Foro América Libre to meet in Mexico City
The Foro América Libre, a gathering of right-wing Latin American organizations, is scheduled to meet in Mexico City on September 30. The event is promoted by the National Action Party and former Mexican President Felipe Calderón.
Participants include activists from 70 conservative organizations and political foundations representing 25 countries. The forum aims to serve as a liberal-democratic center and a media counterweight to the São Paulo Forum and other left-wing alliances. Key figures expected to attend include former President Calderón and the former Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro.
The meeting follows a previous gathering held in Montevideo, Uruguay, in August. The forum’s stated objectives include the defense and strengthening of democratic regimes in countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Mexico.
