Fors pilots local soil recycling project using lime

The utility company Fors is conducting a pilot project near Roskilde to recycle excavated soil locally using lime. Instead of transporting excavated earth to distant locations and importing gravel for filling, the company mixes the soil with lime to make it reusable on-site.

Project leader Jesper Jørgensen stated that the initiative aims to provide both economic and environmental benefits. The company hopes the method can become a ‘new normal’ to reduce the environmental impact of transporting soil across the country.
