Forschungszentrum Jülich implements new high-throughput electrolysis plants
Forschungszentrum Jülich has expanded its electrocatalysis research capabilities by commissioning two 16-fold high-throughput electrolysis plants. Developed and built by hte, these systems include a high-pressure PEM electrolysis plant and a facility for alkaline water and CO2 electrolysis.
The new installations allow for the parallel and reproducible testing of electrolysis technologies under conditions that mimic industrial environments. By utilizing parallelization, precise analytics, and digitized workflows, the systems aim to significantly shorten development cycles and generate high-quality, consistent data essential for advancing efficient and scalable electrolysis processes.
This deployment builds upon a long-standing collaboration between Forschungszentrum Jülich and hte. Initial results from current research operations indicate that the plants are meeting their potential through increased sample throughput and consistent data quality supported by integrated software.
