Fort Collins intersection of College and Trilby to reopen in October

The City of Fort Collins is preparing to reopen the intersection of College Avenue (U.S. Highway 287) and Trilby Road following a two-year, $12-14 million construction project. The intersection is projected to reopen to vehicle traffic on October 2, 2026.

To facilitate final paving and signal testing, several lane closures and access restrictions are scheduled. College Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction during two periods: from September 17 to September 20, and from September 24 to September 27. Additionally, Trilby Road will be closed west of the College Avenue intersection from September 21 through September 27.

The final phase of the project includes testing new traffic signal equipment during the last week of September. While the intersection is expected to open in early October, crews will continue work throughout the month to install sidewalks and perform final cleanup.
