Jordan Pensak, a 27-year-old corrections officer at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in Burlington County, New Jersey, has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of an individual in federal custody.

Federal authorities stated that Pensak engaged in a sexual relationship with an inmate, which included exchanging sexually explicit photos and messages via social media and apps. These communications were facilitated by the inmate’s use of two contraband cell phones while in custody. Pensak reportedly admitted to the relationship in text messages sent to various individuals, including the inmate’s family members, and expressed concerns regarding a potential pregnancy.

Pensak faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for February 10.
