Fort Lewis College to host inaugural Rubik’s Cube competition

Fort Lewis College will host its first official World Cube Association (WCA) Rubik’s Cube competition on November 7. The event is scheduled to take place in the Student Union Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The WCA is the governing body for mechanical twisty puzzle competitions, aiming to support the global speedcubing community. The competition will feature various puzzle types, including the standard 3x3x3 cube.

Local interest in the hobby is supported by the campus Cubing Club, a student organization in its third year of operation. The club provides a space for members to practice speedcubing and hosts unofficial mock competitions to prepare students for official events.
