Fort St. James Home Routes concert series expands for 2026-27 season

The Home Routes concert season is scheduled to begin on September 26 in Fort St. James. Organized by Pope Mountain Arts – Community Arts Council of Fort St. James, the 2026-27 series has expanded to include six shows, up from five in previous years.

The lineup primarily features folk performers from Canada and the United States. The season kicks off with San Francisco-based artist Kristina Olsen, and includes a March performance by an artist from Oklahoma. In May, Marie-Véronique Bourque and Christine Tassan are scheduled to perform a collaborative set drawn from the Canadian jazz scene.

Program manager Wendy Lintunen noted that the series emphasizes an intimate setting and storytelling, allowing performers to interact closely with the audience. To increase local accessibility, the program offers affordable shows within the community so residents do not need to travel to Prince George. The series also incorporates a hosting component where artists stay with local families, sharing meals as part of the cultural exchange.
