Fort Worth dining features long-standing staples and new local spots

Ol' South Pancake House has served the Fort Worth community since 1962. Originally opened by David Benson and his sister, the restaurant moved to its current location at 1509 S. University Drive in 1973. Now managed by Rex Benson, the establishment is known for its late-night availability, attracting students from TCU and other local patrons. A signature menu item is the German Pancake, which the restaurant reports sells over 40,000 units annually.

In the local dining scene, Pal's Bar & Kitchen is a newer establishment located off North Tarrant Parkway. While noted for exceptional service, the venue faces challenges regarding its visibility due to its location within a recessed strip mall. The restaurant operates as a suburban bar and kitchen, offering food alongside its beverage service.
