Fortaleza celebrates 300 years with historical photography exhibition
The Museu da Fotografia (MFF) has launched the exhibition ‘Fortaleza: Três Séculos de Luz’ at the Teatro Carlos Câmara to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the city of Fortaleza. The exhibition features rare photographs that document the urban, social, and cultural transformations of the capital over three centuries.
Visitors can view historical records of architectural landmarks, landscapes, and daily life, providing a visual journey through the city's development. The exhibition is part of a broader effort to preserve the visual memory and identity of Ceará. It is open to the public with free admission until October 16, 2026.
Fortaleza's museum landscape offers diverse cultural experiences, ranging from collections on maritime history and literature to modern digital installations. Many of these institutions are housed in restored historic buildings, integrating architectural heritage with educational programs, workshops, and guided tours to foster local identity.
