Fortaleza City Council holds fourth youth legislative simulation

The Fortaleza City Council (CMFor) held its fourth simulated session of the ‘Parla, Jovem!’ program. During the session, young councilors discussed legislative projects concerning anti-racist education and mental health support in schools. Participants also addressed national topics such as democracy and the debate over the 6x1 work schedule.

Council President Leo Couto noted that recent initiatives from the program, specifically the ‘Trilha da Inovação’ and ‘Rota do Conhecimento’ projects, were officially sanctioned by Mayor Evandro Leitão and have become municipal laws. Couto emphasized that the program allows youth to move from being spectators to active participants in the construction of public policy.
